Move!

So, I have been talking to God for a while now, since my last post about what to post next! and i will tell you now, i was frantic because its been a while since I’ve posted . Like 2-3 months. I have been consistently bringing this blog before God. I don’t want to just be posting stuff just to say that I posted something. So I’m studying, and I’m praying, and starting January 10th, I started on my First Fruit Fast that God had given to my parents and so we do it for 21 days annually (as well as many others) . Furthermore, so I’m studying and I’m praying, and I’m praying and studying , and still nothing! Then these passed two weeks God has been dealing with me on Sin and Faith during my devotion time! So I’m like ok, ok… things are clicking, and just when I think I have everything situated I’m like ok so I have this topic, this scripture, another scripture, another topic and so on…. But wait! How in the world does it all link up…. So that’s the state that I’ve been in until Friday evening when my mom asked me to speak at church on Sunday morning ! So I of course did some more studying, and more praying, and Lo-and- behold …. God gave me a two for 1 deal He gave me a message to speak on in the format of a blog, and since I didn’t say everything…. BOOM!  right after church the Lord dropped in my spirit ” put it on WillingVessel…. you’re welcome ! “… Sooooooo, now that y’all have my justification … Let’s get to the word shall we ?

As you read in the title, this blog is about Moving!.  Since I am one that needs to know and  understand definitions in order for me to talk about something, I simply looked up the definition to the word “move” (note: I looked up move because when I looked up moving it gave a bunch of adjectives… and none of the definitions were the ones I needed for this particular message/ blog.. so I looked up the word move and then I was able to get some good definitions.) … what I decided to do with the definitions given to me was to pick out the ones I needed and just expound on each definition. So I will give the definitions, give my scripture, and explain my points within each definition :

Moving as a Believer: Phil.3:8-14

8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!  12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

-moving- Phil. 3:8-14

The word move means :

A- To change in position from one point to another. (matt 16:24-27) In order to move, you have to be somewhere, and going somewhere else. In order to move from one place to another you have to be in one position in order to have something to move away from, and a final destination or goal in mind that you are moving toward!

B- Follow a specific course(1 peter 1:13-16; Eph. 4:24; John 14:6) When you are moving you never want to be moving aimlessly and without control! You should always have a course/passageway that you are following and as a believer you should follow the pathway of Holiness! ( Holiness is described as the flawless and sinless nature of God). In order to live holy you have to … I repeat you HAVE TO to make Jesus Lord of your life… No man can come to God except through Jesus!  Making Him your priority is definitely a salient and necessary step in your progress as a believer along the course of holiness…

C- To depart. ( matt 6:24; Eph. 4:22-23; Romans 8:8-10) Moving away from your current state… As a believer, you should be constantly moving AWAY from/ OUT OF your sinful or old nature, you can NOT fully and effectively serve and please God while still indulging in sin especially with no remorse for your or desire for forgiveness and improvement.

D- To progress to a particular state. ( As in state of mind)- (matt 5:3-5)–  Improvement comes by first recognizing your current state/ condition and area in need of improvement, being godly sorry for your shortcomings, and lastly humble yourself and allow God to work in you and on you so that you can move forward in Christ Jesus.

E- To exhibit great activity or energy.  (Deut. 10:12; Psalm 100:1-2; Col. 3:23-24)– The activity that we as believers should be constantly partaking in, is Servant-hood! Serving God with a purpose, with your whole heart ; and as the bible says with GLADNESS. Not serving for recognition, self-fulfillment, or reward from man. People can only reward you here on earth, but there are no greater rewards than the rewards given to us by the Lord!

F- Progress; to go forward. (Phil. 3:8-14) the definition of forward is: in the prescribed direction or sequence for normal use. When you are moving forward you cannot be looking back! When I was a little girl, I remember one day riding around in the street on my bike… and instead of looking in front of me, I was looking backwards and I ran off the street into a light pole. When you are moving and looking back, you are bound to run off of your course and into distraction, trouble, and or regression, because you cant progress looking back. When you’re moving in the direction of the Lord, and you’re in His will then you are allowing yourself to be in the position of being used by God, and to be advancing HIGHER and DEEPER in Him!.

In Closing: The ULTIMATE GOAL of every believer is to know and to be like Jesus Christ. When i say know, its not just knowing as in ok, ” there is the big God, then his son that died for us, and then the holy ghost and that’s what be making people speak in tongues and stuff when they pray or get happy or something.”But to know him means to fully grasp and adapt the sinless and flawless nature of God! And the only way we can do this is to become like/ one with his son who was: He was one with God, spirit filled, and he selflessly and diligently served God until until it was his time to leave this earth. So in order to move forward to the ultimate Goal (becoming one with God) to adapt the nature of and become like His son Jesus Christ.!
